Bulletin No. 28

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD

Despite public meetings, a MORI poll, a VISION Statement and overwhelming support for a waterside village concept yet more public meetings are being held. These are as follows:

  1. Saturday 27th October, 1 – 4pm at Seven Islands Leisure Centre
(this session includes entertainment for children)
  2. Monday 29th October, 6.30 – 9pm at Time and Talents, the Old Mortuary, St Mary Church Street
  3. Tuesday 6th November, 6.30 – 9pm at Alfred Salter School, Quebec Way

The purpose of the meetings is to impartially test public opinion. The danger is that in the belief that CWC has won the argument nobody turns up and our opinions - at the final hurdle - are not heard in the overwhelming strength that is needed. I can't stress too strongly that I am worried. If you want to make sure that Canada Water Development avoids skyscrapers and high rise development you should go to one of these workshops and make your voice heard. Numbers count. Your individual vote and your views are more important this time round than the support you already give to the CWC. So please make time to go to one of these workshops and participate in the exercise.

The danger is that if you don't, then all your work, interest and enthusiasm will be sidelined.

Regards
David Brunskill
